The groups receiving the greatest benefits from
mass immigration are: The Big Three: Politicians, Business, “The Power Elite” Politicians The
Democratic Party encourages immigration both legal and illegal and is primarily responsible for the “semi-open “ borders the nation currently suffers. In recent years more Republican Party members have become proponents of mass immigration. Both parties encourage mass immigration but for different reasons. Each party is rewarded by segments of their constituencies for encouraging mass immigration, maintaining semi-open borders and paralyzing immigration law enforcement. Democrats see a huge pool of potential Democratic voters within the present new immigrant groups. Republicans are influenced by business interests that benefit economically from the lower
wage labor provided by immigrants as well as the ever expanding number of consumers in the balooning American population. Recently Republicans and Democrats have both championed different forms of amnesties for illegal aliens. As this nation faces terrorism and war neither party has proposed measures to substantially improve the security of America’s borders. Neither
the White House nor a majority of Congress advocates minimal measures such as substantially increasing the number of Border Patrol personnel or supplementing the Border Patrol with elements of the U.S. military. Neither party has demanded strengthening interior enforcement of immigration laws. The President has the authority to completely transform the administration of U.S. immigration law currently performed in a most studiedly derelict and incompetent fashion. The Federal
bureaucracy charged with immigration enforcement actually facilitates mass immigration through its non enforcement and nulification of U.S. immigration law. Neither party will advocate the deportation of illegal aliens. Merely six months after the greatest loss of civilian life on American soil in a single day, perpetrated by foreign nationals, the Congress at the behest of President Bush nearly authorized an amnesty for foreign nationals illegally in the United States. Under President George W. Bush, the Republican Party has focused on obtaining the favor of minority voters. The majority of persons presently immigrating to the U.S. are minorities, therefore the Republican Party fears alienating minority voters by enforcing this nation’s Immigration Laws. Business Some American employers prefer immigrant workers. American employers find that immigrant workers, and especially recently arrived immigrants: - Will work for a lower wage than American Citizens or
immigrants who have arrived earlier;
- Will accept working conditions that other workers would not accept;
- Will accept less in the form of benefits and “perks”;
- Are less likely to join unions and are more docile, this is especially true for illegal
alien workers;
Entire segments of American industry are in a “race to the bottom” of the wage scale. Many employers compete with each other to locate, sometimes import, and employ workers who will work for a lower wage and in less satisfactory conditions than their present employees. As one company in a business sector employs lower wage workers, pressures
are exerted on their competitors to do the same. Some specific business sectors that benefit from the lower cost labor provided by mass immigration include:
The above industries as well as others, represented by their trade associations actively lobby lawmakers to
maintain or increase the present massive immigration to the U.S. “The Power Elite” Ethnic Power Lobbies Political advocacy groups representing various minority groups within the United States tirelessly lobby for open borders,
amnesties and ever increasing immigration. Most of these groups seek to increase the political influence of the group they represent. For example several Hispanic groups such as LULAC, MALDEF and LA RAZA all exert their political influence to bring about amnesties and the nullification of immigration laws. Politicians seek the favor of ethnic special interest groups to win elections. The ethnic special interest lobbies seek to increase their political power by increasing the numbers of
their respective groups through the immigration of members of their groups and by converting more of their group members into voters through amnesties and eventual obtaining of citizenship. As the groups grow in numbers so does their political influence. Ethnic power lobbies seek benefits for the groups they represent including greater political representation, expanded government benefits and economic preferences for their groups as well as other agendas. Religious Organizations Most religious groups in America advocate the “free movement of people” and mass immigration. Clergy and many religious groups from across the spectrum of American religious institutions are vociferous supporters of amnesties for illegal aliens and mass immigration including the
historically high numbers of immigrants America now takes in. Various religious organizations seek to increase the size of their congregations in the United States through the importation of their coreligionists. The ability to move members of their congregations easily across borders is essential to many religious denominations. The Roman Catholic Church is an energetic
advocate of mass immigration and open borders. In November 2002 a joint conference of American and Mexican Roman Catholic Bishops issued a communication that voiced their continuing intentions to aid illegal aliens in the United States. Their November communique stated: “We stand in solidarity with you (illegal aliens). We commit ourselves to your pastoral care and to work toward changes in church and societal structures that impede your exercising your dignity.” Academia America’s universities and colleges have an important financial stake in unimpeded mass immigration. A substantial part of their student body and thus their tuition income, is comprised of foreign students studying in America on student visas. A large
part of these foreign students stay on in the United States after graduation as both resident aliens as well as illegal aliens. The cream of America’s academic faculty advocate mass immigration and open borders. Many advocate regional or world government and believe that the very idea of nation states is outdated and no longer necessary in today’s world . Immigration Lawyers The legal profession exerts an influence in American politics in a proportion far greater than their numbers would indicate. Through large monetary contributions to political campaigns as well as through deft use of lobbyists and
networking, american lawyers influence immigration policy. As immigration lawyers earn their living processing various government immigration processes and procedures for their immigrant clients, they benefit financially from massive immigration. |
