Cost of social programs provided to immigrants at the expense of U.S. taxpayers Dr. Donald Huddle, Professor Emeritus of
Economics of Rice University conducted a study in 1997 of the net cost of immigration to American taxpayers. Dr Huddle concluded the following: In 1997 alone, the approximately 26 million legal and illegal immigrants in the U.S. cost taxpayes a net $69 billion in excess of the taxes those immigrants paid. For each U.S. taxpayer the cost is $260 in additional taxes.
The final conclusion is that the net cost to taxpayers for immigration from 1993 to 2002 will be $668.5 billion. |
